Four Stages: 1) Online Application and CV Review Speaks for itself. 2) Online Interview If I remember correctly, there are four questions. Largely motivation-style questions, but, in my instance, there was a market sizing question as well. 3) Assessment Centre At my assessment centre, there were about 24 people present, whom, after our introduction, were subsequently split into 4 groups of 6. There is then a rotation around 5 stations, of which 3 are tasks: The 2 more relaxed sections are a Q & A session, and a standard break, of which both you can probe current employees, and get a good feel for the company. The 3 assessed parts are: i) Speed-style interviews - be prepared to be probed on your motives for consulting, Capco, FS, etc., and expect a couple hail Marys to be thrown in to boot. ii) Aptitude tests - comprised of numerical- (without calculator) and verbal reasoning-style questions, although, as far as aptitude tests go, I thought they were particularly easy. iii) Case Study - your group of 6 are required to work together to solve a case study. I mean, I am sure there are plenty of approaches to take, but, me, personally, I was proactive and led to group, which was enough for me to be invited back to final interview. 4) Final Interview I attended the assessment centre, and the next morning, I was rang and invited to final interview, and even offered the opportunity to complete the final interview the same week - a testament to Capco's efficiency. The final interview consisted of 2 x 30 minute sessions, firstly with a senior member of the consultancy team, and secondly with HR. Each interviewer is pleasant and warming, and I'd probably say your consultancy interview will be to probe your motivations, skills, passion, etc., and your HR interview will be to test that you aren't a social robot. My advice would be to convey your passion about the position, and be certain that this is the role you want. If you're not excited about consulting in the financial services, then potentially Capco might not be a good fit for you.

Video interview: 5 basic questions (tell us about yourself, describe a time you found a solution to an analytical problem, etc), 2 mins to answer each question. Still waiting to hear back after 2 weeks, although I thought I did pretty well..

The interview process consists of three distinct rounds. The first round was a managerial interview, where I was assessed on my ability to manage tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and demonstrate leadership and decision-making skills. This round focused on understanding my approach to handling challenges, cross-functional team collaboration, and managing client expectations. The second round was a technical interview that delved into my problem-solving abilities and technical expertise. I was asked to solve real-world problems, showcase my proficiency with specific tools and technologies relevant to the role, and demonstrate my coding abilities in a timed environment. This round tested both my theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills. The final round was a behavioral interview, designed to assess my soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and adaptability. Here, I was evaluated on how well I align with the company’s values and culture, as well as my ability to handle workplace scenarios like conflict resolution and decision-making under pressure. I was also given the opportunity to ask questions and further demonstrate my interest in the role and the company.

I very recently had an assessment day with Capco which was an experience to say the least. It started with two interviews the first was okay the manager was nice and friendly but the second was not so pleasant. The interviewer did not want to be there and didn't even let me speak. Going onto the case study which was fine and no issues until it came to asking questions as the case study leader laughed at my question. This happened a second time by the same lady in the last Q&A session as she laughed in front of everyone about my question. I am not sure if she thinks she is better than everyone else or something else but if thats the people Capco employee stay far away! I unfortunately didn't get offered the position which is okay, there was a lot of high calibre candidates. The issue comes from being told of this rejection through a no reply email with "We received many qualified applicants and have decided to move ahead with another candidate who we feel is a better match for this particular position" which is the only feedback i got. I think it's appalling that I as a student spend days preparing and applying whilst still carrying out university work to receive a two sentence email of rejection without even an option to apply. I have never had to write such a comment before but I believe everyone should know not to spend time applying!
