The position was posted for different language profiles, and French was marked as an "asset". The organization contacted candidates to test French language skills and those that didn't meet wouldn't be considered any further. I disclosed early on that my language skills weren't to the level required, and I didn't hear back. A month later they contacted me to tell me they didn't find a qualified bilingual candidate and they would like to interview me. I wasn't told who would be interviewing me, or any information about the process. The day of my interview, one of the interviewers showed up late. They were also super distracted and dismissive of all of my answers. At the end of the interview, the organization agreed to contact all candidates (for a second round of interviews), whether they were successful or not. It has been weeks and never heard back.
Interview processes are too expensive and time consuming for everyone, to have unprofessional staff running them.
