The first meeting was with HR who probed about my current salary and benefits without providing any colour on their compensation package, they then proceeded to ask some scripted technical questions. When I asked for clarification on one of the questions, they clearly did not understand what they were asking. It was an interesting call to say the least, but surprisingly I got invited to the first round interview with the hiring team. The interviewers were one senior associate (same level as the job I applied to) and one associate (one level below) which was very odd but at this point, I thought why not, so I went. The meeting lasted one hour, most of which were technical questions. Because I have a few years of experience in this field, I found their technical questions pretty reasonable, some of them even genuinely interesting that I actually enjoyed. Overall, I'd say it was a productive and friendly meeting. Before they wrapped up the interview, they said the next stage would be a case study and I should hear back in approximately X weeks. Lo and behold, a couple of days later, HR sent a one-liner email saying they would not proceed with me.
