      Entretien pour Computer Vision Engineer

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez CIBO (Cambridge, MA) en mai 2018

      Entretien

Internal recruiter reached out to me by LinkedIn message, and overall they were not easy to contact; told me to contact a secretary to make an appointment later for a quick screen phone call with the recruiter which I thought was very odd. Normally, I can just call the recruiters directly and have a quick chat. Overall phone screen itself was very positive and he told me to apply for one of the computer vision engineer positions. On the position description, my skills (Python, MATLAB, C++ and computer vision skills) were all listed. After applying, another person from HR reached out to me to give me a skills test/project. They wanted me to use Scala/Java for the project, which I have no experience in and was not listed on the job description at all. But, rest assured, the HR person sent me some getting started and installing Scala guides so I was all set (sarcastic). After some resistance, they ensured me that I would be able to perform the test in Scala and "not worry" that I had no experience in it prior. I decided to accept the challenge. Upon receiving, I quickly became frustrated with the amount of time required to install Scala and setup the environment. So, I fired up another language (which mind you, was on the job description for desired skills and I am 100% fluent in) and did the project within no more than 2 hours. The HR person responded back a couple days later and said they would not be moving forward. I followed up with request for feedback and then there was nothing but crickets. Overall, this experience was very poor and unprofessional. It is clear CiBO is simply trying to waste your time by sending out a wide net and getting as many chumps as possible to try their challenge. It is almost as if their test is to see how much of your time you're willing to waste to get an interview with them. Personally, I would be very careful with spending time applying for these people.
