Normal interview as whole day with several groups. Started off fine until one interview group had 1 person vs. the 4. Not a great use of time. Had to do a massive presentation, 25 to 30 minutes and the questions were disjointed. It was hard to find a rhythm to reason for all they wanted the presentation to answer. Had 12 minutes to eat and was starving at dinner. Prepared with snacks and to eat light since lunch is still an interview but had to get the food and walk back. What bothered me was the follow up or lack thereof. Was suppose to hear back after a week. Followed up after 1.5 in case they busy. No response. Another week in case they offered to another. No response. After 4 weeks I got email from HR that they went with another candidate, automatic message. Usually as a finalist you get a call especially if you go there and participate in an all day in person interview. The job shows up a few months later on job board, possibly failed search. It left a bad taste in my mouth they wouldn’t even spend 10 minutes to say we went with someone else or we are failing the search. I’ve had a hiring manager call for failed search as a finalist and even get a more personal email when another candidate is selected. It was completely out of pocket and unprofessional to never respond. The job was posted against after less than a year so consider it as divine intervention and true colors were revealed!
