The interview process was not clear from the start and still was not fully clear by the time I withdrew. The first interview was not personable and barely got a feel for the company or culture. There was little to no small talk (or two way conversation at all) so it was very hard to get a feel for the company or the product itself. Also, it was mostly a portfolio review and really would have benefitted from an initial screener call. For the second/“final” interview there was so much over communication of things I needed to fix before going into it that I was questioning why they moved me on in the first place. Not only did they expect a 3 hour second interview, they also expected you to prepare a PowerPoint presentation and a whiteboard challenge (to which I assumed was on-the-fly white boarding because I got no prompt so how was I supposed to prepare, but I was asked by several members how the prep was going). Furthermore for a position like this it’s already a lot of work to create a portfolio; to expect a person with a full time job to also create a ppt for their curated portfolio and do homework with a company that has not taken the time to connect with the candidate is asking a lot of people who already have a full time job. My advice to the company is don’t assume that everyone is dying to work for you. Spend time showing the candidate why they should choose to work for c3.ai. They expect too much time from the candidate for providing so little in return.
