Pathetic Technical Interview experience.
The Chinese interviewer was very unprofessional and unprepared.
The interview was conducted on Lark / Zoom.
First of all, he won't open his camera, while he expects you to keep the camera on.
and He won't use his name in the meeting and will remain anonymous.
The interviewer did not introduce himself on the call.
Kept giggling during the interview when asked a question that I could not answer.
He will go on mute and won't speak for a few minutes after I answered the question and I asked to unmute him multiple times. I thought I was talking to myself on the call and not the interviewer. It felt like he did not want to conduct the interview but maybe forced to conduct by the HR team, it was clear he was not interested at all.
Very unprofessional tone on the call, I was not sure if it was due to the accent or just wanted to sound rude.
Lacking in English communication, he would ask questions with no proper clarity and wasn't sure if he was asking a question or making a statement.
No structured interview, if you are asking technology questions, you should let the candidate know that you are going to ask Linux-based questions now or Web technology-based questions now or something from a specific topic, the interviewer just kept asking some random questions jumping here and there without any structure. Atleast, prepare a mindset for the candidate what he is expected of this interview session, just throwing anything that comes to your mind does not makes sense, instead have a structured interview broken into various sections.
When you take technical questions, you should first prioritize the technical basics of the role, the products might differ in various ways but the basis of the product technology remains the same, so I believe the interviewer should first focus on the technology first and then jump on products.
