      TLDR: I got an offer that was then rescinded, horrible experience in the end, rude recruiters. Interesting interview process where there are at least 5 separate phone screens before they give an offer. I had 7, the last two being with HR. I received a verbal offer over the phone and by this time I was already really excited about both the role (I came from a SWE background) and some of the people I'd be working with from my experience with the interviews. But after negotiating a bit on the offer I did not hear back from the recruiter. I sent two follow up emails until I got a very cold and prompt phone call telling me "The hiring team is taking a different direction". I know these things happen but this was my first experience and it was rather shocking and pretty rude in the way it all transpired. This company strung me along for 7 interviews! Only to play me in the end. I remember reading the interview reviews on this site and seeing how the company responds to every negative review. I thought that was actually kind of nice, but don't believe the hype. IF they can't offer proper feedback as to why exactly they would rescind an offer at least, then I don't think they really care about people's negative opinions here and its all just a show. One of the worst experiences of my life that left me questioning myself and my abilities like crazy for about a month. Heed this advice, if you have other interviews and offers, don't consider ByteDance/TikTok in the running.

      Standard CS interview questions and some business related and behavioral type questions. For technical I think they focus a lot on tricky binary tree stuff.
