After scheduling the interview I received an email that advised to check the job portal to prepare for the interview. I did and found no information other than the interview panel which consisted of one recruiter which made sense to me for an initial interview.
When I joined the call it turned out to be a final interview with a panel which I found bizarre. I had not yet discussed salary expectations, didn't know whether this was a remote or in person role, hadn't spoken to anyone at all about the company etc. It felt like a waste of everyone's time as there are many reasons this role might not have been suitable for me and it seemed odd to jump straight to a final interview without knowing any details.
The interviewers introduced themselves and then jumped straight into the questions, no introduction to the company and I didn't get a chance introduce myself either. It consisted of about 30 minutes of behavioural competency questions followed by 30 minutes of technical questions with no live coding or take home task. The questions weren't particularly difficult.
I didn't do very well as despite the questions being ok I was really not in the mindset to go into a final interview. It's been 5 weeks and I still haven't heard back from them. I don't expect to get an offer but the lack of communication has put me off applying to BA at any point in the future too.
