I applied for an instructional coach position in the Tampa, FL area. This job description required a bachelors degree and years of teaching experience but no salary was listed. I should have seen that as a red flag. When I had the initial call with a recruiter they told me the job paid 35-45k. How insulting to be recruiting former teachers and offer 10-20k less than what is currently offered to teachers for only working 10 months. I ended the interview after that part of the conversation.

Applied online and within a few days a recruiter reached out to me to set up a phone screening at a time that worked for me. After the initial phone screening, the recruiter set up an appointment for me to have an in-person interview with the Director and Center Director for the following week. I was given a full tour of the center and then was brought in for a 45 minute interview with both of the directors. Lastly, they had me interact with a classroom for about 10 minutes to get a feel of things. The entire process was very warm and inviting.
To wrap it up, they explained to me that the process would take 2-3 weeks before making a decision, and proceeded to tell me the full hiring process and if I wanted to check in on the status I could reach out either to them or the recruiter. They ended up hiring someone else the next day.

The process: they first set you up with a 15 minute phone screening. Mine was skipped, I was told that was because of my experience. They didn't feel I needed to do this part. Second is the virtual interview with the director at the center location. The director informed me she had a list of generic questions she was required to ask and I could answer the ones that felt most relevant to the position. I answered basically all of them. The interview was probably 45 minutes in length. The questions were in regards to working with children, working with teachers, working in an early learning environment and I geared all my answers toward the view of the Instructional Coach position.
