Was contacted to apply by recruiter. After application process, call was scheduled with recruiter to go over my background and experiences. Was going great. Second call was scheduled with more technical people (Department head and Engineer) and an assessment was given to confirm Java knowledge. Before completing the assessment, the second meeting was canceled by the recruiter, no heads up given, with the message "I will be in contact shortly with next steps." No follow up message came and I was left high and dry with zero contact.

I accepted the offer, probably about the same time the last person got canceled. They told me they were giving me time to consider. They will probably get a callback finally because I just withdrew. There's nothing to say that hasn't been said already except that before I was left hanging for almost a month waiting for the next steps after the second interview, the recruiter, who proposed the date and time, just flat-out stood me up for the first interview. Ordinarily, that would have been an automatic "no ." I wish I could say it was uphill from there.
