The hiring process for me involved an online application, waiting several months for a response, and a brief interview with a manager. I waited approximately 30 minutes for a manager, and after one showed up, we had a fairly brief conversation. I was told he liked me, and would be in touch. They contacted me a week later.

Question 1
Are you comfortable selling membership cards and magazine subscriptions to customers?
The interview process was great. Very productive dialog and everyone was helpful to me even though I did not get the job. I wish all interviews were like that because it makes a difference.

Question 1
What would you do if you saw a fellow employee steal a book?
Overall, this was an easy and straightforward interview. They asked the same general questions you receive at most retail job interviews. Standard questions about strengths and weaknesses, goals, interests, etc. If only they had mentioned how terrible the job was going to be then.

The process included three very relaxed, open interviews with the manager, assistant manager, and barista. Felt immediately welcome, which calmed my nerves and made me excited to start. The whole vibe of the place is super casual, but make sure to at least throw on a dress shirt with nice jeans and nicer shoes so that you look presentable. Interview process happened during the pandemic, which can make communication skills difficult in terms of facial expressions. However, as stated before, everybody was very nice so the masks and social distancing requirements really made little to no difference. Once my third interview was finished, I was sent a background check to fill out within a day and was working by the next week or so.
