I was cold-called (emailed actually) by Boo and invited to set up a time to come to an informal interview. There was no job title specified since the intention was to figure it if I would be a good fit, likely for a few different openings. When I arrived at the interview, I found a packed waiting area with about 30 people sitting or leaning in different areas. Apparently there were 4 or 5 different companies interviewing at this location, as a series of different people would come out of their offices periodically and call for the next person on the list.
The interview lasted 5 minutes for me and it appeared to be about the same length for others. I was told that they were speaking to about 60 people on that day and were looking to put together a Top 10 to move onto the next stage. I was asked 3-4 questions and thanked for my time. I rate this a negative experience because I believe it would have been much more efficient and respectful for it to have been a phone call. It was demoralizing sitting in that waiting area and I truly believe that the only thing effectively learned about someone in 5 minutes in-person rather than on the phone is what they look like.
