      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 4 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez Bobby Dodd Institute (Atlanta, GA) en févr. 2016

      Entretien

This was the most bizarre interview I have ever had. I have worked as a professional for years, so the antics that took place during this interview shocked me somewhat. I was eager to apply for the position at BDI because I live in the area and it would have been nice to work so close to home. When I arrived I was asked to fill out an employment application and I waited about 15 minutes before the HR person came to get me. Once in her office she proceeded to tell me that the interview would be more informal, and that it was basically to help them get an idea of whether or not I could show up on time and complete paperwork. (No, she was not joking.) Needless to say, I did a double take upon hearing that information. She then proceeded to tell me details about the position. When she finished with the details she told me that she had absolutely no influence in the hiring process, and that she would be forwarding ALL of the resumes to the hiring manager. She made it very clear that I should not contact her because she had no impact on hiring. My immediate thought was why anyone would think it was okay to monopolize people's time in this way. Since I was already there and had taken the time get dressed in business attire and use up gas, I decided to ask her a round of questions despite her self-proclaimed lack of influence. I really started to get concerned when I was told the position I was applying for had been posted the previous year, and the hiring manager could not find any applicants to interview from that initial posting. (Yes, she was serious.) An hour later I left with a bad taste in my mouth and the certainty that BDI was not a good fit for me. I also sent the HR rep an email regarding the status of my application 2 weeks later just for fun since she wasted a good portion of my day. I thought it was only fair to disrupt her day a little as well.
