Application I applied to Bloomberg on their careers website and emailed the recruiter that contacted me earlier in the year when I applied for the 2022 position, in order to speed up the process. Received an email a few days later to schedule a technical phone interview. Phone Interview 1 hour interview, 20 minutes reserved for talking about each other, my current job etc. The other 40 min were used for a coding challenge. He asked me to code a medium level LC380 problem, although the problem’s statement was a little bit different, the coding part was basically the same. Coded it in 35 minutes while answering questions about my code. Had just a small mistake that he pointed out and I solved it quicky. 5 min used for questions. Received positive feedback a few days after. Interview #1 – Data Structures & Algorithms The duration was 60 minutes. We used the first 15 minutes to introduce each other and ask a few questions about each other. She asked only one behavioral question: Why do you want to work for Bloomberg? She proceeded to ask me LC797. I solved the question quickly, but she notices that I used a LinkedHashSet. She became intrigued so she asked me to design a MyLinkedHashSet class. I got to implement only the put method and she seemed happy with the answer. Based on my design, she also asked a basic question: How does a BinarySearchTree works? Received an email 30 minutes later with a positive feedback. They apologized for not being able to schedule the next interview in the same day, as we spoke, so she asked about my availability for the upcoming Mondays and Wednesdays. Results The rounds of interviews took part in November, I messaged the recruiter 2 or 3 times since, if they managed to schedule my interviews, always getting the same response “We are working hard to schedule interview slots…”. I know people who started interviewing in January and already received an offer. A lot of time wasted for nothing.
Overall, it was a positive and professional interview experience, though the interviewer was on the stricter side. Unfortunately, I was dealing with an illness and wasn't able to prepare as thoroughly as I wanted to, which left me feeling a bit off throughout the conversation. Despite not feeling my best and facing a tough interviewer, the process was well-structured.

Fairly simple. Phone call then onsite. For onsite it was 10 min office tour follow by 1 hr interview then 1 hours system design and 30 mins manager interview. Interviewers were nice and the recruiter was accommodating.

5 rounds first 3 being leetcode coding ones and the last 2 being behavioral. The first three are the hardest asking mainly taggeed questions and the rest are not that bad
