I applied for a software engineering intership/placement role in London, UK. The process started with a phone interview invitation received ~1 week after submitting my CV. The interview itself was mostly LeetCode with a few behavioural questions. Afterwards, I was invited for a virtual on-site consisting of three parts: coding (similar to my phone interview), system architecture (more about designing classes rather than making scalable systems, surprisingly) and HR (behavioural questions only). I had to pass every part one-by-one, so each part was scheduled separately. I was rejected after the final HR stage, but the recruiter offered me feedback, so I knew what to improve in my interviewing skills. The overall experience was positive for me, but I would slightly change the organisation of an "on-site" . Although I liked scheduling its parts separately, there shouldn't be very long breaks between them. In my case, the parts were always a few weeks apart, effectively increasing the length of the process to 3 months (from CV submission to rejection)!
