J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris plus d'une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Block (New York, NY) en nov. 2020
Entretien
Block (formerly Square) loves to waste people's time I've learned over the years. I interviewed here twice and both were terrible experiences. Their recruiters had initially reached out to me. The Head SE did not bother to read my resume and began asking numerous technical questions that seemed out of line for this role (ie Full stack engineer vs SC/SE types of questions). They also request the candidate to commit to a 5 hour panel interview including a technical presentation with less than a week to prepare. At the beginning of the panel interview day, this same individual rather than being up front and suggesting to end the interview process early (because he clearly felt I was unqualified) continued to have me go through the day long panel process while slowly berating me for my lack of skills across the day. I had to take a PTO day for this and in the end, didn't feel appreciated for the prep time nor respected as an individual. I didn't get the job and am happy I didn't. I learned this company is ran by egotistical tech bros. If you're not 'in', you are an outsider and they will not respect your efforts.
