The recruiter refused to tell me what the salary range was for this position. Living in LA isn’t cheap and I wanted to make sure we weren’t wasting both of our times but she told me they didn’t know the salary range yet and it all depends. She explained the next steps would be for me to complete a project and they would let me know if I move on. However I won’t be doing any work for them until they can tell me how much this role pays.....

While I was expecting an extensive interview process, I was disappointed by the time commitment Bliss Point asks of applicants. Anyone hoping to interview with the company should expect no less than 12 hours of outside prep for deliverables, in addition to a three-hour interview, which includes surprise cases and an Excel exam. The first round was a standard screening interview. After passing this, you'll move onto the second round, a deliverable with instructions as follows: As Senior Manager of Client Strategy and Analytics, a key part of your role will be mining data for insights to relay to the client, helping the client understand what the data means and how they should allocate marketing dollars accordingly. The purpose of this activity is to show us how you would go about analyzing a data set in order to tell a story in presentation form, as we often do for our clients. Please create a deck with a maximum of 3 slides (no need for a title slide) and email the deck over when you're done. If you would like to share your work in an Excel document to show us how you went about your analysis feel free to do so, however, this part is completely optional and we are primarily looking at the deck. We will be assessing your deliverable on: Narrative/Point of View: State a hypothesis and confirm or refute it. One question you might think about answering is how the individual variables affect the overall happiness score and what levers should a country pull to become “happier”? Depth of Data Analysis: Instead of just providing us with descriptive analysis, think about showing off more advanced types of analysis like correlation, regression, etc.! PowerPoint Skill: This is not about making the most beautiful slides - we want to see slides that are easy to follow with clean, clear figures and data visualizations. We have provided you with 3 years worth of data. Rather than focusing on analyzing all of the data we’ve provided to you, we would like to see you come up with a clear message or POV. The slides should be adequate as “stand alone” client material, with no verbal presentation component needed. After the team’s review, we will contact you about potential next steps. After completing the above exercise, despite being told this deliverable should be client-ready without a talk track, you are then asked to deliver a 10 minute presentation, followed by 10 minutes of Q&A. After this third round presentation, you may be granted a fourth round - three hours worth of interviews. Again, expect at least one case that includes a media investment split between two networks, with one over performing in some metrics while underperforming in a key driver for the client (in my case, the client with the lower engagement had a higher average revenue metric per customer). You'll be asked to discuss which levers you would adjust to increase the overall metrics, as well as how you would change the overall media investment between the two partners. The second case asked if a patient was told they had TB, with 95% accuracy in the test, how would you evaluate if the patient truly has TB if you were their insurance provider and responsible for adjusting their premium. Fortunately, the team was responsive and I heard back after two business days. However, had I known how intensive this process would be, I would have steered clear, and I've posted this detailed overview to warn candidates in advance.
