I recently applied for a position at BlackRock and had a rather disappointing experience. After not getting the first job I applied for, my resume was passed to another internal recruiter who reached out about a different role. I made it to the second round of interviews, and everything seemed positive—I connected well with the interviewers, and they even mentioned "when you get the job," which gave me confidence.
However, after following up with the recruiter a few days later, I received no response. I sent a second follow-up email the following week, but still nothing. The lack of communication was extremely disheartening. A little bit of courtesy—even just to say they went with another candidate or decided not to continue with me—would have been appreciated. It also makes me wonder how they treat their employees if this is how they handle candidates they were considering. Better communication would have made a world of difference.
