To preface, I understand that this can come off as a disgruntaled rejectee, however I simply hope that the interview process can be changed to be fairer.
Great interview conversation, we shared a lot of thoughts on the work reuqired to elevate the brand and what I could bring to the team. The interviewer was knowledgable and had great aspirations for the role.
Followed by unreasonably high standards for the role given the mid-level position and pay. time and effort expected on interview task was unreasonable, and when bringing that up I was told that 'everyone has had to do it in the company'. Despite putting in a considerable amount of work, this was apparently seen as 'not enough'.
Critical of my ability to describe my work, No leaniancy for nervousness. The fact that I have a form of autism and am challenged with presentation speaking did not seem to make much of a difference on my critique.
Arguably subjective rejection as I never got to speak to more than one person. I have never experienced that in any other interview.
Please be more reasonable with your expectations. People will be nervous and this is not a signifier of their inability to explain their ideas.
Don't expect over a days work put into a task, I have personally never seen this at any design firm.
