      Entretien pour Value Management

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez BetterUp

      Entretien

My interviews were pleasant and fairly easy. I spoke with the recruiter on the phone and she was competent in leading the call. Next was a video call with the hiring manager and again, she was perfectly pleasant if not the clearest communicator (a lot of words, but little meaning). But you ever get the feeling right off the bat, before you even really get into questions, that you're not getting the job? I did. The vibe made me strongly suspect I wasn't quite what the hiring manager would visualize as an ideal candidate. I did see who filled one of two roles though and wasn't surprised to see the similarities between her and the person hiring. For the interview, it didn't feel like it was much about my experiences/qualifications but rather drilling down on one particular issue (I assume one that the team is grappling with) and ideas on how to solve it. Ironically, despite BetterUp's mission to "bring the power of transformation" to enable people to reach peak performance, no feedback was provided. Might say a lot about their product and service.

J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 6 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez BetterUp

      Entretien

I first had a phone screen with a recruiter, which went well and I was passed on to the hiring manager. I then had a 30 minute interview with the hiring manager, after which I completed a take-home assignment. I then had four interviews for a final round, including an assignment presentation with the hiring manager, a culture fit interview, and two cross-functional interviews. This process took about six weeks. After going through this lengthy process, I received a response from the recruiter a week later indicating I hadn't received the role, but that I shouldn't hesitate to reach out with any questions. Naturally, I was curious for feedback, so I asked the recruiter if they could share some insights. I never heard back from the recruiter, even after a follow-up request, nor did I hear from the hiring manager after asking for feedback. I found it disheartening to have spent the time I did on the process only to be rejected via what looked like an automated and potentially disingenuous response. For a company that claims to focus on personal development and improvement, it seems like that mission doesn't extend to the candidates who put substantial time and mental effort into the interview process. I also learned later on that one of the cross-functional individuals who interviewed me ended up getting the position for which I applied, which made me wonder whether there might have been a conflict of interest or bias inherent in the process. Without receiving any feedback, I guess I'll never know!
