I was called for a phone screen by HR which lasted about 15 minutes. They asked me for an overview of my skills and what I thought I could contribute to the company after walking me through the company history and the day-to-day of the job. HR was very transparent that the job can be tough and this position does a lot. I was scheduled for an interview and went in to meet with HR. The owner came in half way through and was very friendly Asked her questions and left. HR gave me her card on my way out and sent me an email thanking me for coming in, which I thought was a nice touch. I didn't get the job, but I liked that they were honest with me about why. They told me I just did not have enough work experience for the position and that I would be contacted if another position came up. They said they would be more than happy to walk me through what I could improve on via a phone call if I wanted. I didn't take them up on that, but I thought that was nice. I have often been denied for jobs with no explanation why so it was nice that they were willing to walk me through it to help me improve my chances for my next application.
