I did not even have an initial conversation with anyone from the company. They thought I would be a good fit and wanted me to complete a task for them. I was happy to do it as I have done other tasks for interviews but found it strange they did not want to speak to me first at all. They also wanted me to do a stupid, ridiculous amount of work in a week. I do not think I have ever been asked to do so much! Despite these red flags, I completed the brief, did everything they asked for and sent it off on time. That’s when the problem started. I did not hear anything from them at all for a good week. No emails, nothing! I contacted the lady who sent me the brief only for her to tell me that the position had already been filled. I thought this was really bad as they had no intention of even speaking to me since they already hired someone else. It just makes me feel they wanted me to do some work for them, FOR FREE so they can get ideas of young designers looking for experience. Instead of tricking people into doing tasks for you, maybe you should try hiring people with good, creative ideas and work ethic so you do not waste other people’s time and energy. I had been working day and night shifts whilst doing the task they set too so I was exhausted by the time I completed the task. If you interview for a job with this company, be careful. Whatever they show you during interview stage is how they will be like when you work for them!!
