      Entretien

      Recruiter emailed asking for a brief phone call. During the call, she says to see the phone interview as “just a conversation” but just asks a bunch of annoying, vague interview questions

      I had a wonderful phone interview and was actually told I was overqualified for the position I had applied for told there was another position I should apply for as well. I went into the in-person interview feeling confidant one of the positions would work out. Once I met with the Corporate Recruiter it was a very different experience. She was a little short, almost to the point of being rude.

      The Corportae Recruiter asked me fairy standard interview questions including why I wanted to work there. I felt like I had answered the question honestly and thoroughly (company culture, potential for growth etc.) Then she proceeded to ask why I wanted to work there several times in slightly different ways like she was looking for a very specific answer. It made the experience feel strange and unprofessional. I did not receive a job offer for either position.

      Thank you for your candid feedback about your interview. We're disappointed to see you had a negative experience and would like to touch on a few points from your review. We do have a number of jobs that require similar skill sets, so we'll often suggest other positions that are in line with a candidate's experience or career goals. It's definitely not our intent to ask the same question over and over or make a candidate feel that we don't believe them. However, sometimes we do ask questions for clarity on items we already covered. Our goal is to get a comprehensive understanding of what each candidate is looking for not only in a career, but in a company as a whole. We want to ensure Aya is the best place for any potential employee so we may ask similar follow up questions to fully understand why they want to leave a current job to make sure Aya can provide what it is they're looking for. We truly appreciate that you took the time to leave us a review as we’re always trying to find ways to improve our interview process to make it as effective as possible.
