I had applied for a community manager position in early August. After completing a brief phone interview a couple of days after I applied, I was scheduled for a 2nd in person interview with the regional manager around the end of August. After driving an hour from my home to complete the interview at the corporate office, I was informed the position I had originally applied to, had already been filled. However, due to other available, or upcoming opportunities that the company had, I still interviewed. The same day I also had a 2nd interview with a community manager of a community I thought I would have been considered for as I had expressed interest in one of the other positions that was available. After my 2nd interview I had followed up with both the regional, and community manager to say thank you for the interview. I received a response back the same day from the regional who then informed that following week would like for me to do a 3rd interview with another community manager at a completely different community that had no open positions. The manager who interviewed me for the 3rd time was very direct, and came off as if I inconvenienced his day (felt like I had to rush through my interview). It was definitely a complete opposite interview to the ones I experienced over the phone, with the regional, and other manager I interviewed with which was more pleasant. After my 3rd interview I had sent a thank you follow up to the manager. About a week later I had emailed the regional back as a general follow up as I had not heard anything back regarding the status of my application or after the 3 interviews. I still have not received a follow up, however, my application in their system still states "under review".

I could not get past the initial recruiter screening because she was late for the first interview by an hour and a no-show for the second without communcation of any delays. I have not heard from her since.

I applied to the position through the website and received an email 3 weeks later requesting I come for an interview. Jon arriving for the interview, there were multiple applicants placed in a conference room to fill out paperwork and a series of short answer “essay-type” questions. It seemed to be some kind of a recruitment event. About 20 minutes later I was brought into a room with two interviewers. I was asked a series of typical questions,; “Why Avalon?”, “Tell us about yourself....”, “How will your skills aid in this position?”. After answering the questions and approximately 15 minutes, I was informed that the position I was seeking had already been filled. I was asked if I would consider a Community Consultant position in which it was described as a similar yet junior position of the Community Manager. Said I would need to think about it so I could look into the requirements and pay scale of the position. When I returned home {after over an hour in traffic}, I found that the position being offered was basically an entry level position making less than half of what the original position I applied for was estimated as. I logged into the Avalon Careers site to once again see that I was still being considered for the position that I had been informed was previously filled. Why waste my time? In addition, why the “bait and switch” type interview? And to think I was under the impression that this was a good place to work........
