This was a very disorganized and messy interview process with multiple rounds. Be careful with the people interviewing you as they may not be very transparent about the reality of the role or the company. The people I interviewed with did not know who I had already talked to and what we discussed, and I never got to talk with the recruiter either (which they assumed that I had), which were all red flags. The interviewers for different rounds also gave conflicting statements regarding the details of the role and the culture of the company especially regarding the expectation of working hours, which were even bigger red flags.
Additionally, the position did not list the salary range and they did not preemptively disclose it during the interview, which was illegal in the location that I am in. When I asked for the range in my last interview (after having asked in prior ones and the people didn't know), the interviewer said that they didn't have a range in mind and if I have an expectation. I told them a minimum of $160,000, which was quite affordable for the meaningful amount of niche experiences and specific subject matter expertise that they needed for the role . Lo and behalf, the person suddenly replied that "well, we usually pay our engagement director $130,000 to $160,000". So the upper limit was exactly the number that I gave him. Needless to say, I didn't get an offer.
