Had an initial recruiter screen and then a call with the hiring manager. Was super confusing why they selected me in the first place. When I applied, the posting wasn't even complete and didn't have any requirements listed. When I got selected 2 months later, the posting had been amended, and I would not have applied based on the required years of experience. I think they had a bad read of my background and seniority level because I was very much not senior enough for the role. I also asked what they were needing on the team, and they said "more leadership", and yet the team was made up of like 2 seniors and 2 principals, so... leadership for who exactly? Very confusing. Also the pay was not good for a principal role, only around $140k which is what I've been seeing for middle roles, not top of the tech organization roles. Seems like they've been having a hard time filling this one, I can't imagine why.

Question 1
What formal processes have you used to determine work/roadmap prioritization and breakdown?
2 system design, 1 coding, 1 hiring manager.
System design focussed on standard questions (design a room reservation system and a messenger).
The coding interview was very simple.
Hiring manager screen involved digging deeper into the past experience.

Recruiter round - HM round - technical screen round.
The process is frustrating and very slow. I had to follow up with the recruiter and a scheduler at every stage.
It took them 2 -3 weeks to get back from each round. After stringing me along for 6 weeks and repeatedly requesting for next steps they rejected me without any feedback.

Question 1
Usual tech recruiter round and HM questions. Everyone was extremely disorganized and had no clue about the position. They kept saying this is a new position and they're figuring out stuff.
