      Entretien

Please do not waste your time interviewing at this company; THEY MAY NOT EVEN HAVE THE POSITION ITSELF APPROVED BEFORE YOU START INTERVIEWING! Here is my (unfortunately negative) experience with this company: I applied to AMP in early August, and soon got an email indicating that they would like to interview me. The first step was a typical phone interview, where I talked about what was listed on my resume and my professional experiences. It went well, and then they asked me to do a timed online programming assessment for the role. I was given an hour for the assessment, and honestly, I felt it was very fair for the position I was interviewing for. It contained 2 programming questions where I was asked to write a specific function, a code debugging question, and a logic gate question. At this point, I was impressed with how fair the questions were, as it was a nice breath of fresh air compared to the take-home programming assignments that I had had with other companies that took an entire weekend to complete. I imagine that anyone who had at least taken a course in C Programming and Digital Logic could’ve passed the assessment. The next step was an on-site interview at their new office location in Santa Fe Springs. I talked with my main point of contact for the position, who gave me a tour of the facility. The place was in the middle of renovations, so naturally some spots looked pretty unorganized/cluttered. The office where I was interviewed did not have working A/C, though the office area just outside did, thankfully. After the short tour, I met with 2 of the Software Managers, where they just asked me further questions about my prior experiences, as well as situational questions, such as how could I test the proper functionality of an ADC. After the on-site, despite the office still being renovated, I overall had a pretty positive experience with the company up to that point. What happened after the on-site, however, was incredibly unprofessional and inconsiderate of my time. My main point of contact called me a few days after the on-site, indicating that the company would like to extend an offer to me, and explained that the final step would be to get in contact with their HR department to go over the details of the offer. The catch was that their entire HR dept. is located in India, and I would have to coordinate w/ their working schedule to set up a call to discuss my salary & benefits. I was able to get in touch w/ 2 of their HR reps, but after a few emails, they just about completely ghosted me, and we never held the call to discuss the offer. I emailed my main point of contact, and he told me that he would get in contact with HR to accelerate the process. A week and a half after receiving his verbal offer, he finally emailed me again, saying that he “was unable to get the offer approved” and that "perhaps in a few months, things might change". We didn’t even negotiate salary, so it seemed to me that the role itself hadn’t even been solidified & approved before I began interviewing. I was infuriated; I spent all of this time interviewing with them, even getting to a point of getting a verbal offer, only for them to pull the rug from under me like that. How did they not have this role approved before interviewing me? Unbelievable. I really wanted to give this company a positive interview review, as I was pretty impressed with their interview process up until after my on-site. Please, PLEASE do not waste your time interviewing with this company; they DO NOT respect their candidates' time whatsoever!
