I was interviewed by the store manager on a Saturday morning. She asked me a few questions and was extremely nice and friendly to me. She made it clear to me that I had basically gotten the job. She asked me about my availability and told me a pentative schedule for me. She walked me around the store and showed me some of the clothing items and what makes Athleta so unique. She introduced me to employees and then said she would be doing a background check on me and give me a call back soon. I have worked for a police department before so I had no doubt that I would be clear on the background check. But after a week I heard nothing back. So I gave the manager a call back just to check up on everything and she sounded really annoyed that I reached out to her again. She told me she’d get back to me soon. It’s been a month and I have not heard back. I’m very upset about this because my interview with her went so well and she falsely led me to believe that I got the job. I turned down other jobs thinking I was going to get this one. She should have been honest with me and kindly told me that they were going on another direction instead of giving me false hope. The managers lack of honesty reveals a definite lack of leadership skills on her part and I now know that it may have been for the best that I didn’t get the job.
