Differs by team, but many teams follow the process I will explain. For onsite, given 3-4 hours to solve a generic OOP prompt and get test cases to pass. Given to all levels of engineers and different levels of proficiency are expected. For me, I was given as much help as I wanted from interviewers, but for the most part, you are working on it by yourself. Afterwards, you sit with them to explain your decisions. Two other short interviews - basic behavioral and one design question.

Had a call with a recruiter and after that a team wanted to do a round of interviews. The interview process was with a 3rd party that they outsource their tech screens to. I found this incredibly unprofessional and impersonal as interviews are a way for candidates to get a feel for the team they will be working with.
If I am taking time out of my day, your engineer can take an hour out of their day too. This speaks volumes about the culture at this company.
