A very positive, professional, and courteous experience across all touch points of the recruitment process. Initial contact came via an external recruiter before being handed over to an internal recruiter. The external screening covered my background and experience, with a note that construction industry exposure would be highly valuable for the role.
The following day, I was invited to a first-stage interview with the hiring manager and a colleague. This was a very positive experience, with ample opportunity to learn more about the role and organisation, as well as discuss my experience and expertise.
Shortly afterwards, I progressed to a final-stage in-person interview at their London office. The environment was welcoming and relaxed, with a productive culture. The hiring manager provided a tour and introductions across teams, followed by an informal chat with members of the Learning team, who were enthusiastic and clearly passionate about their work.
The final stage involved a task-based assessment presented to a senior designer. While preparation time was limited, I felt the process was fair and relevant to the role.
I received feedback the following day advising that I had been unsuccessful, though I was considered a strong candidate who could add value, with another applicant being a slightly closer fit for the specific requirements.
I felt well suited to the role but ultimately did not demonstrate this convincingly during the process.
Overall, a very positive experience.
