Fairly long, okay process and the interview was difficult to get to. for the interview we were asked to present a 5-minute presentation on a technical matter but at a basic level. It was difficult to choose what could be easily understood so I took something basic, sticking to the interview brief, and ended up being laughed at! Not professional at all. I was offered travel expenses and feedback and months later still not received either.
I hope this is a one-off. It is incredibly competitive to get a job with Arup, and in general, my experience was good before the interview, but tarnished by the interview.

Multiple online stages, very clear and interactive process. Plenty of contact and updates throughout the application process. Includes an initial application, followed by an online assessment with various written questions.

Interviewer provided a 2 minute introduction of ARUP. Then asked about my motivation to join arup, and which of ARUPs values I liked. Then it turned to the Situational question. It was very fast paced and the interview picks at every detail you say. Be prepared.

Question 1
Senior colleague from another discipline is struggling - you have submitted your project an hour before it’s deadline, what do you do? What could you offer? How would they take your offer?
Half an hour phone interview. The first part included typical HR questions. In the second part, there were situational questions.
The situations were:
1)I am working on a big project and my manager asks me to move to a smaller one. How do I react, what questions do I have for my manager etc.
2)I already have a big workload with competing deadlines and my manager asks me to take on more work. How do I react etc.
3)My team has one hour until the deadline of a project and one of the senior team members from another discipline is struggling. What do I do etc.
