Spoke to Appello at a local careers fair ( not sure if this is actually the same company BTW)
2 Hours of tests, interviews and mock phone calls
Interviewed by a fairly junior member of the training team, was asked loads of questions from a pre printed form.
I listened in on some live calls as they came in, did a basic numeracy and IT test and also did a mock telephone call as if I was on the job.
Pretty annoyed since although I was there for 2 hours and I felt it went OK I didn't get any useful feedback other than a standard 'we are sorry to say' email.
They do not give bank holidays off, so if you have a shift on Christmas day for example they expect you to cover it. Pay not that great and the office on Queensmead in New Milton is a bit run down ( the break room smells as if it had not been cleaned properly ) You can perhaps understand shabby offices for a small start up but this is a big company so pretty inexcusable IMHO
Don't know what more I could have done, I live right near by and have 10 years call centre experience.
