Applied for this position in February, didn't hear back until early May just to hear they moved on with other candidates & I wasn't qualified after "reviewing my background", I think the background they didn't like was my skin color considering the position is still open for applications, i'm more than qualified and wrote an elegant cover letter. I hate to say this but i believe I wasn't selected because of my race. I've opened the stock market, Co-founded my own company and have extensive experience in strategic partnerships. I also have a degree in economics, took risk management courses so to not even get a phone screening while claiming they are actively recruiting is ridiculous. I also learned that other black males who applied to other positions at AON from my alma mater also never got an interview despite also being quite qualified with experience in the insurance industry. It's a shame because i've met the leadership at the NYC office and they were very kind, and seemed quite competent. I believe there is definitely some discrimination going on in the "talent acquisition team", I've never experienced anything like this. I understand this is a serious accusation and I would keep this to myself and extend the benefit of the doubt but considering this isn't just my experience, I feel incumbent to take a moral stance and warn others. If i was AON I would launch an investigation considering they claim to have a commitment to DEI and value a good ESG score.
