I was contacted to interview for this role after reaching out to the department head. I received an email and we set up a phone screen. The screener told me she was impressed with my credentials and passed me along to be interviewed in person. I was interviewed by 3 people in separate rounds. While I liked the people I met, I noticed some major red flags around the office. First and foremost was the stunning lack of diversity, in both age and ethnicity. Every person in the office was either white or Asian, without a single black or Hispanic face to be found in the office. Additionally, nobody in the office was over 40. However, what stood out the most was the eerie silence. Each person sat at their desks on their mobile devices, not looking up or talking to anyone else.
Even though I knew the company was not a good fit for me, to not even follow up with a candidate after 4 rounds of interviews is disgusting and appalling. If I give several hours of my time to your company, I expect to at least be treated like a human being. Don't apply for a job at Annalect unless you want to be tossed aside like a piece of rotten meat.
