I had a phone interview. I thought it was going to be HR and did not prepare any technical. I was asked basic technical questions which I was not able to answer with confidence. The questions are like 'how to calculate standard deviation', 'Assumptions of linear model' 'what happens if mean is greater than median' ' what is p-value' ' type 1 and type 2 errors'

Interviewer is very nice and patient. Basically ask some questions about how to clean the data, handle data, how to select the model and how to use model to predict.

I applied through a recruiter from LinkedIn . Got phone interview immediately by a statistician. The questions they asked were very techinical. They don't ask any behavior questions at all. Got rejected about three weeks.

I have experienced 2 round of interview. One with statistician, second with another statistician. Got rejection letter the day after I interviewed. I applied for statistician but got a rejection for senior statistician. So wired.
