I applied through a recruitment agency. The recruitment agency acted as point of contact between me and Alps Alpine professionally. The project manager at Alps Alpine reviewed my application. They asked a list of questions through the agency and they got interested in my profile. They invited me for an interview. I interviewed them personally at Alps Alpine Sweden Filial in Gothenburg. The interview went well and at the end they said that there will be another interview later that week and they'll send an invitation. Through the agency they informed me that they were satisfied with the interview and they apologized they couldn't send the invitation on time. They said they'll be sending the invitation by the start of the new week. They asked for my references. They contacted the references. They missed the invitation on they start of the new week and they apologized again. They rejected my application later that week. (My Comment: I believe the references should be taken when the employer is sure that the candidate is going to be offered the job, or at least he or she is very close. Asking for references from employees in middle of interviews between the candidates is not professional. It is a waste of time for all the parties involved)
