I do not blame the recruiter, but the teams I interviewed with were extremely frustrating. The entire process took over a month. I first did a phone interview, then interviewed with the dept. leads a week or so later. After a week they asked if I could complete two writing prompts. The tests were not quick, required thought, and were due within about a week, during which was Christmans and New Year. Another week or so after that, they wanted me to speak with another person on the team who wasn't in a supervisory or management position. At this point, it was clear they were debating on multiple candidates. It was about a week or more after that that I was told I didn't get it but they had another position open. I interviewed for the new suggested opening but was informed (after I called them) that the team was actually looking for someone with different experience.
