I never had such a negative experience. These people don't value people or their time.
I applied for Aisle for Android Engineer role and as a 1st round was asked to write an android app for a given UI design / flow and integrate with their API.
I worked hard 2 full days of my weekend on the assignment they have given with proper architecture and not something quick and dirty. After assignment submission, in general discussion I came to know they needed someone to join immediately, which I cannot as I have to serve notice period.
Note: It was not mentioned in the job posting that they needed someone to join immediately.
I wasn't given any update on my application, after Assignment submission and General discussion. I manually followed up after a week only to be hit with generic rejection email that someone else did better than me.
There is no specific reason given for rejection, which only made it clear that I was rejected because of my Notice period as I did really well in assignment, at least to be qualified to further rounds if not getting selected.
For someone whose job description says they need people who value people & time, this kind of behavior is disappointing.
