Recruiter reached out for a 30 minute phone interview and sent an automated rejection email afterwards. It is is rude and the process feels very de-personalized. It does not align with their motto "Affirm cares". Truly, they don't care and treat candidates like inventory.

I applied online. Within a week, a recruiter reached out for a 30min intro call. I connected with the hiring manager a few days later for 30min. call.
No response for a week until I followed up with an email to the recruiter for next steps. Then I received an automated rejection email.
After I answered the interview questions asked by the hiring manager, I felt that he was baiting for ideas/solutions to real-life problems he had to solve. It was almost as if I had given him free consulting advice.

The recruiter sent me a link to schedule a phone call. I followed the instructions. We scheduled a 30 minute call for a few days later, and completed the phone interview. Mostly conversational.
