      Entretien pour Recruiter

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 5 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez Aerotek (Elkridge, MD) en juin 2012

      Entretien

I was contacted by a recruiter about an opportunity to interview for a recruiter position for the company. It was a job path that I had not considered before but having just graduated from college, I was desperate for anything and it sounded pretty interesting. I had a phone interview with the same recruiter that contacted me about the position. She called it a "phone screening" and asked me questions about why I wanted to be a recruiter. I found it hard to answer because she had contacted me about the job and not the other way around. They really want you to do a lot of research about the company which I completely understand but I think she had her expectations a bit too high. She scheduled a 2nd interview at the end of the "phone screening" to meet with the Manager of the Regional Recruiting team for two days later. She gave me a lot of helpful documents to prepare for the interview. I also had to submit an online application for the job but doing so was a bit more difficult than expected. The recruiter made it sound like I just had to sign up for something online and send them my resume but there was a whole other application process that I wasn't aware of. It was not difficult but the recruiter didn't do a very good job of explaining that I had to fill that out as well. When I arrived for the in-person interview, I was greeted almost immediately by one of the recruiters in the office. The Elkridge location just opened so they didn't have a secretary yet and there were only about 10 people in the office but they each took the time to greet me and introduce themselves which I was very impressed by. When I finally met the Manager, it was a brief hello and then he passed me on to two other people who did the actual interview. I was surprised and a little confused because they made it sound like I was meeting with the manager. The interview itself was ok, but the two guys who interviewed me had basically NO personality and made me feel a little awkward with how serious they were (I'm a pretty energetic person who likes to add a little humor here and there so that's why it felt strange to me). They demanded a lot from me about knowing certain things about the company and how to handle the position. I had done as much research as I possibly could and read all the materials that I could find but they did not seemed too impressed. They also informed me that I would be working very long hours about 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, which seemed like a lot to me. I'm all about putting in a hard days work, but it seemed that they demanded a lot of their employees. By the end of the interview, I couldn't have been more happy to get out of there. While it sounded like a new and interesting career endeavor, I did not get a good feeling about the company at all. Two days after I had the in-person interview, I received a rejection e-mail from their Intern. I was a little disappointed that they did not take the time to make a phone call or to even hear from the people who actually interviewed me.

The interview process was quick. Lasting around 15 minutes. There are several interviews that you will go through. They will do an initial interview with the director. Then you will get scheduled for a follow up. This is where you meet the other recruiters and account managers. They will walk you around the office and have you shadow some of the recruiters.

Average difficulty covering standard interview questions. Phone screen followed by an in-person interview. Phone screen was received quickly after resume submission; in-person was with their head recruiter and then followed by one with their manager.

Phone screening call with the recruiter giving me information about the job, then another virtual call interview more in depth to ask me more questions. The final interview is in person in their office.
