Disappointing Interview Experience Despite Strong Interest in the Company
I recently went through the interview process with Adyen, a company I’ve admired and aspired to join for some time. Unfortunately, my experience was less than ideal.
From the start, the process was disorganized. My confirmation email for the interview was sent to the wrong address, which caused confusion. The recruiter I interacted with was not clear in communication and provided little guidance throughout the process. Despite my thorough preparation and confidence in the interview, I was not successful in passing the first stage.
The feedback I received was quite broad, which left me unclear on specific areas for improvement. My attempts to seek more detailed feedback from both the recruiter and the hiring manager were ignored, which was disappointing.
While I still hold Adyen in high regard and believe in their strong company culture, I feel that the interview process may benefit from a more nuanced approach. Focusing solely on perfection might cause the company to overlook candidates who could otherwise bring great value to the team.
