When I first received the email asking for an interview, I legitimately thought it was a scam. I worked for a major blue chip company for a couple years that specialized in software & AI. I was heavily trained on avoiding phishing. The email came with a PDF attachment explaining who the Addison group is and how to jump on Teams for an interview. Something felt off. I called the Addison group directly and cross referenced the name who would be interviewing me through Teams chat and it was a real person. I was questioned and answered beautifully to typical interviewing questions. What threw me off was how the interviewer always addressed me by my full name instead of manually typing out my name in regular conversation. Looks like whoever created Teams wrote in the script that your full name will be in bold and in red type face when you use the @ sign. That means this interviewer was too lazy to type out a conversation and probably copied & pasted her interviewing questions as they were all grouped together. This interviewer was extremely rude and brushed me off like she was some powerful film executive and I was an actress trying to land a lead role. The amount of entitled egotism these recruiters have is absolutely outrageous. I was polite during the whole interviewing process and find this recruiter’s behavior completely unprofessional in every single way. She treated me badly and I’m sure many other people like disposable worker bees. I am an educated professional that deserves better and so do you all. PS - most of these jobs are 1099 contract work. The senior executive assistant position read as a PM in the description, but I’m sure the client didn’t want to pay what a PM usually makes. The entire experience made me disgusted with this agency.
