Got through to the 2nd level of interview. The HR was always late in responding to WhatsApp communication. It took several days to respond and had me wait the entire day although they had promised to give me a call in a specific agreed time. On the interview day, there were 3 interviewers including HR and I had to create a slide and do a product presentation on one of their products because they wanted to see how I presented and how well I understood the product. They explained to me about the role and how they’re practicing a fast-paced culture. Then they started to ask questions about my background, product knowledge, etc. It was fine until one of their seniors pulled out The Wolf of Wall Street's lines. “You see this marker pen; can you sell me this pen?”. I don’t see the relevance to this role. Although the role will be assigned to the sales department they clearly mentioned to me this role will not do sales. It is either they are confusing interviewing for a product sales manager or product manager or the role will have to do a sales task too in the future (if that’s the case, please be clear and explain to the candidate). The two hiring managers seem like playing a good cop bad cop style. So if you get through as I am be well prepared for all of the above.
