Getting the job: If you are not in college and Accenture does not recruit at your school, it is very important to reach out to someone who already works in the company, preferably with some tenure. Referrals help a lot. Don’t worry if you don’t know anybody! Linkedin is your best friend. Network, as much as you may hate it. It's all about showing you really want it. Message current employees and try to build a connection with anyone that will spend some time with you. A LOT of people will turn you down and just not reply, but keep at it. Sometimes they don’t want to because they have a lot going on, understandable. It’s a numbers game and I promise you will find someone who doesn’t have an inflated ego and sees your potential. Interview stage: 2 Interview rounds as of 2019. First, with the recruiter who is most likely a general finance department recruiter, who maybe knows some basic finance info that the role involves, but they will only ask you some behavioral questions. Examples: Tell me about a time you had to work in a team, Tell me about a time you dealt with a conflict within a team, etc. Use standard STAR technique to answer and add a little bit of personality - don’t sound too canned. Interview lasts about 30 mins. Second stage (final), on site. This interview is long so come hydrated and well fed! Interview is with peer, specialist, and manager or team lead. Peer is just casual, show your personality! Talk about life, your resume and previous jobs a bit. Don’t forget that interviews are also a conversation, so just be relaxed. Second, with a specialist (above analyst). One or two behavioral questions and a case study. Case study revolving around the role of the job: Profit/loss and margins, it's nothing too hard so don't worry! I definitely over-prepped by doing a whole lot of valuation and forecasting methods they did not ask. Know your excel skills (V-lookup, H-lookup, Pivots) Third, with the team lead to go over your understanding of the role. The difficulty of this phase can vary depending on who the manager is. For the most part, it’s conversational and getting to know each other. Make sure you send a thank you note to whoever's contact you get and show appreciation for sitting down with you. Remember, they took time out their day but so did you! They are glad you came to offer a potential rising start to their team as well.
