A recruiter reached out to me over the phone, and I had a number of different conversations on different occasions with her a lot of back and forth. I then moved to the next stage with a phone interview with a member of the team. Interview was very relaxed and informal. Moved to the next round and was given a large presentation assignment for my next round. However, after assigning me the presentation, the Friday before the Monday I was supposed to present, the hiring manager let me know that they had another candidate that was taking the position. It seemed quite un-professional to assign someone a presentation if there is already a candidate at the end of the hiring pipeline.
