I applied online. There were questions on flexibility then a competency based questionnaire. I received a call a few days later inviting me to an asda magic event the following week. I dressed smart and was asked to bring my documents with me, I was told it would last a couple of hours. There was 5 applicants and the interview was set in the training room with the people manager and personnel colleague.
We started by getting into a pair and one group of three and we had to learn about the other person, i.e their age, previous jobs etc. We had to ask two questions before the time ran out as well which were 'What would you do if you won a million on the lotto?' and 'Why do you want to work at Asda?'. This was followed by designing an easter cake in our small groups, we had to think about packaging, price, marketing etc.
We had a short 15 minute break in which we were asked to fill out a flexibility questionnaire basically asking what days we could do, what departments we'd be happy to work in and any holidays booked.
After this, I had a one to one interview with the people manager. This was very casual basically asking a bit about myself and what I had done in my previous jobs. She told me that they had a security position open at the moment and she asked if I would be open to this as I seemed very vigilant and on the ball.
After my one to one, I had a 10 minute go on the shop floor. This was pretty easy as it was helping three other members of staff to put out deliveries of pet food. Once this was over I was told I would be contacted on Saturday (The interview was on tuesday) and was allowed to leave.
I recieved a call on the saturday offering me the security position, along with a date for the two induction sessions.
TIP: make sure you bring your documents (I.D and NIN proof) as a candidate almost got sent away because he forgot to bring them.

A very complex interview process that entailed a section of online assessments, a group interview, and a final individual interview with the section manager, where a floor trial was also undertaken.
Friendly and relaxed, asked a few questions and had two interviews for the role. First was a group interview and second was with 2 managers. Was a very simple interview both times, not intimidating and very relaxed.
