This is for the Streetsboro, OH location. 1 hour phone screen, 5 hour interview. Posting was for a design engineer with 3-5 years experience.
Met with HR, VP of the department, head of engineering, and a couple of department engineers. Stayed in one conference room for about 3 hours, went to lunch, and came back for a manufacturing floor tour.
Standard hiring questions, with a heavy concentration on the salary discussion.
They focused little on things like what they do, what a typical day is like, the company culture, and travel requirements. That's all fine, since we'd covered most of it in the phone screen.
The bizarre part of the interview was that there was at least 2 hours of an introduction to their flavor of stagegate process. They had a handout prepared, and it wasn't even listed in the job posting. I should've walked out after they insisted on talking about it.
Short salary discussion on the way back from lunch, repeating the one from the phone screen.
Did not receive an offer, callback, or email, which isn't unheard of. My calls to the hiring manager always went to voicemail. Emails were not responded to. Received a voicemail 4 months later stating that they decided to move forward with other candidates, and a separate email 2 weeks afterwards indicating the same.
