Online application which contains several questionnaires asking you which actions are the most/least likely courses of action that you would take. Quite a few are down to common sense. Took approx. 1 hour to complete. Group assessment in which there were around a dozen of us, not everyone was applying for the same store though. We went around the table introducing ourselves, followed by a very basic numeracy test which you have 5 minutes to complete. Then we had a group discussion where we had to prioritise situations in a set scenario, the key is to involve yourself in this, stand out from the crowd. Finally we talked about the company itself and ifs history. The whole group assessment took around 1 hour. Individual assessment was more like an informal chat with the area manager, I was asked why i wanted to work for Aldi, availability and just a bit about myself, this lasted around 20 minutes. If successful during the interview stages then you are invited for a store assessment. First 30 minutes is going over all the health and safety details followed by a tour of the store. The manager then gave me a 'shopping list' which I had to complete, easily done if you paid attention during the store tour. Then i had to show them how capable I was on the till. The rest of the time was doing standard shop floor jobs of clearing boxes, unloading pallets, neatening shelves.

Started as a group where we were educated on the history and benefits about working at ALDI, and were asked what we think working at ALDI is like. Seemed like a good company with fair pay. The individual interview itself only asked availability.
