J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. J'ai passé un entretien chez 6sense (San Francisco, CA)
Entretien
It was one of the best interviews I had and one of the key reasons I joined. Most design interviews have you work on design problems on the actual product of the company, which in most cases can only be a lose-lose situation because you have much less context than the interviewee and it can feel like you are providing free UX consultation, especially when non-designers are interviewing you. Instead, I was given a related case-study to address within a set amount of time and then we went through my work so they could understand my process and my approach to design, and we both in the process could understand if this would be a good fit. What was very clever was that they had me use employees as user research subjects to see if I could gather the right key information from participants to do the design exercise correctly. Very well done and showed that they had a deep appreciation for user research which is key method within user experience design.

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 8 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez 6sense (West Hollywood, CA)
Entretien
A few days after an initial screening call with a recruiter. I was asked to block out the most of the day in the upcoming week for a series of interviews with various stakeholders. A significant ask given I have already full-time job and on-going projects. Additionally, I was asked to accommodate a few schedule changes. The initial interview itself went smoothly, the questions asked were clear and straightforward. I was not a good fit for the role in terms of my experience and I was not moved forward to the next round of interviews. I was disappointed, but only by the fact that no one informed me and I was left waiting on the zoom call for the next interviewers.

Someone at 6sense contacted me via LinkedIn and asked me to apply. I responded and talked to HR the very next day. But the follow up was scheduled a month away. In contrast with most interview processes, there was no initial hiring manager chat. The follow up was a full day of interviews, including portfolio review, with five people. However, after I did the portfolio presentation and answered a few basic questions, they told me they weren't interested and canceled the rest of the interviews. While I'm glad they didn't waste my time after they realized I wasn't a good fit, I'm confused why they asked me to interview at all if my fit was that bad. They had access to my CV and online portfolio for a full month before the meeting, so my presentation should not have been a surprise.
